Are you going on-campus or can you do yours by correspondence?

Hope that mini gets into its home!

Hey,

Im studying Mechanical Engineering part time at USQ , this is my first semester so cant really comment much yet. I also did my diploma a few years ago too and had a break inbetween.

Garage is close, got my exams this week then ill focus on finishing the garage frame work so the roof can go on Smile

looks like a solid car ben, mine is getting bad Rolling Eyes ive always said to my self fix it before it gets worse.. but ive always been put off by the freight costs!!  so where did you get panels from in aus? im up in Brisbane

also bit off topic ive been looking at fuel for my new turbo 1098cc Cool im thinking E85 for the cooling and well as higher octane both acting as det retarding devices plain on pushing the 170+ mark if i can useing gr pistons and golf TD oil jets as well..

I got my Aussie floors and other panels from minisport in Adelaide , their prices on freight are very good and they put in woodern crates so they don't get damaged.

I'm pretty sure karcraft in Sydney have them now too but still have to pay freight for you anyway.

Re e85 , its definitely the go as far as power and det resistance but just not widely available enough for me to decide to use .

Yeah e85 is doing wonders elsewhere in the petrolhead world. If you had a local servo seling it, it could be worth doing. Boost loves it. Although I have seen people not trusting servos as the mix varies a fair bit, like drops to e70. Last i checked United was the most consistent

E85 gas a higher octane rating than petrol, so can run more timing and compression. Runs cooler too, burns cleaner than petrol. From what i have read on the ford sites (where they have turbo BB V8's on it) they need different pumps, tanks and fuel lines... But dont quote me. Apparently the ethanol doesnt like the standard fuel lines

Haha if only , it's sitting on a piece of 17mm plywood so I would say no chance of getting anywhere . I wonder how low it would actually go on the hi-lows ?

Anyway still no progress , have been organising some lowmount short runner t2 manifolds but no progress on my car this year as of yet  Crying or Very sad

Yeah thats it , I originally was repairing the floors and boot but has turned into a full resto. I will get there now that I have my own space I just need to make time Smile .

Anyway managed to finish both beaver closing panels , I ended up making the passenger side one from scratch as I didnt want to unpick another good second hand one.

Still need to fit beaver panel but I am going to do the other front floor first.

Dicided to finish drivers side A-panel, This was a task i have been putting off due to being worried about warping.

In the end it came out pretty good and wasnt as bad as i thought.

No plans at this stage for the engine except for the new pistons. The block has been bored to 0.080+ and will use Graham Russels pistons.

May up the boost a little but to be honest the power it had was heaps. If anything I will just try to make the power more usable.
